Sister of Honua… Maria Teresa Valenzula

is an indigenous traditional healer and  spiritual teacher. She comes from a lineage of shamanic healers and curanderas of the Sierra Madre,Chihuahua, Mexico. She is of mixed heritage from three Meso-American cultures:  Mexican, Raramuri (Tarahumara) Indian and Peruvian. She grew up in the Copper Canyon in Chihuahua, Mexico, where she was trained in the shamanic traditions of her grandmother and her father.
 
Maria Teresa has a wealth of knowledge in Meso-American wisdom, myths, and traditional forms of indigenous medicine and healing. As a multi-lingual “bridge” person she travels throughout the United States, Mexico, and Central America sharing her wisdom, drawing on her heritage, life experience and traditional training as a "Mujer de la Medicina." She is sought out in Mexico and the US as a healer, spiritual teacher, storyteller and an important scholar in the ancient and contemporary knowledge of the Virgin of Guadalupe, Dia de Los Muertos, Semana Santa (Holy Week), Mexican Prehispanic myth and stories, Prophecy of MesoAmerica.   

Presently she is traveling a great deal to the US to give talks in the indigenous voice on ancient MesoAmerica Prophecy as pertinent to these times we are living. Maria Teresa also has an expertise in building traditional altars (Dia de Los Muertos, Semana Santa, etc.) She has worked with shamans in Mexico, Peru and Equador, as well as with indigenous elders from the Mayan cultures of Guatamala and the United States.

Maria Teresa currently lives in San Miguel de Allende, Guanjuato, Mexico
